N O T E S
An ordinary young woman’s ordinary life with an ordinary young man is about the man of today and how his woman perceives him. It is a portrait of this modern man, and at the same time a study of gender roles at a time when gender roles are disintegrating.
The photographs function as a series of notes, which together constructs a kind of photographic diary. The notes testify to a life and everyday scenes that are neither dramatic nor particularly exceptional, but which involve something simple and poetic. The photographs show what a life can consist of, and are a declaration of love for the young man.
